Non-ferrous metal machining is one of the greatest strengths of CNC Routers from AXYZ International. Our machines are used by a wide variety of manufacturing businesses that need machined components from aluminium, brass or copper. These customers include mould makers, aerospace component manufacturers, automotive component manufacturers, display manufacturers, and a wide range of other companies.
AXYZ CNC Routers deliver substantial advantages over most other CNC processes for machining metals. Key advantages include:
- Large format process areas (standard production formats from 1250mm x 1250mm to 2500mm x 7300mm).
- Full 2.5 and 3D machining capability. This allows for true surface moulds, as well as pocketing and step cutting. These are processes that laser, plasma and waterjet cannot perform.
- High RPM spindles for excellent edge quality with smaller diameter cutting tools. Routers produce clean edge finishes that have not been thermally altered and can easily be welded without extensive manual rework.
- Simple user operation. Intuitive controls for the machine operator makes this one of the easiest machines to operate.
- Cost advantage – other CNC technologies such as waterjet and laser cutting are dramatically more expensive capital investments with higher ongoing operational costs.
Configure an AXYZ CNC Router to fit your needs. A typical configuration for a metal fabrication application will include a 5 or 10 HP Automatic Tool Change system, Unist high performance misting system for cooling and lubricating during machining, a vacuum hold down system with high performance high pressure pump and pop-up location pins for easy material location. Other popular options include a Desoutter drilling head, or a bolt on Hypertherm 1250 Plasma option with down draft bed for cutting ferrous metals.
For high accuracy applications, the PACER K+ series machines are well suited with their ball screw drive motion systems.
