The Panelbuilder system, by AXYZ International, is the worlds leading machine solution for routing and cutting Aluminium Composite Materials (ACM) for wall panel fabrication.
The Panelbuilder system is a complete machine, software, tooling and training package for Architectural metal fabricators. This system has been installed in hundreds of fabrication shops worldwide. Our experience in this industry dates back to the mid 1990’s when we were sought out by a local wall panel fabricator to help improve their panel fabrication efficiency.
Efficiency and cost effective fabrication is what the Panelbuilder system offers. The system effectively replaces 2-3 manual processes on your shop floor with a single handling of your sheet stock. ACM sheet is expensive, and damage to the face can render a sheet useless in a hurry.
Traditional fabrication processes involve:
- Handling the sheet from the material rack to the shear to cut the panel blank to size.
- Handling the sheet from the shear to the v-grooving station – either a vertical or horizontal saw table
- Manually rout all four sides of a panel for returns, and more if you are creating corners or column covers.
- This may involve manually rotating the sheet.
- Handling the sheet from the V-grooving station to a large flat space to
- Manually cut each corner out by hand
- Drill or cut slots for weep holes etc.
These processes require typically two labourers to handle the material each time. By implementing a Panelbuilder system in your production facility, you can, with one handling of the sheet material:
- Cut panels to the exact size needed with no additional measuring on the floor.
- V-groove the rout lines exactly and consistently to the depth you need to ensure fabrication accuracy, and to maintain warranty on the paint finish after fabrication.
- Corner notch the panels in multiple methods with ease without additional handling.
Once the material is located onto the machine, a single operator can push a few simple buttons and the system will take care of the rest, including holding the material in place (by a highly efficient vacuum hold down system), cut and rout the panels without stopping (corner notches, drill holes, access holes, weep slots are all machined in at the same time), and collect the swarf that is created by the cutting process.
