Following the recent acquisition by Canada-based AXYZ of US-based WARDJet, the primary European subsidiary in the UK has now officially announced the availability of a range of technically advanced waterjet cutting systems. These will offer a highly efficient and cost-effective alternative solution to traditional CNC routing and knife-cutting systems for industrial applications where these are not appropriate.

Explaining the logic of the acquisition and the new business opportunities that will be  created due to the synergy of the two companies, AXYZ’s UK Managing Director, Mark Sweeney, commented: “Whilst CNC routing and knife-cutting systems remain the most suitable for a vast range of applications in key sectors such as sign-making, woodworking, panel processing and plastics fabrication, there are other equally important industrial sectors where, due to the nature of the materials that have to be processed, these systems cannot be used.” These include, for example, aerospace, automotive and general engineering which require harder and thicker materials like stainless steel, glass, ceramic, marble and stone that CNC routing and knife-cutting systems cannot process.

UK-based Vice President (Market Development) at AXYZ, Robert Marshall added: “Since 1991, we have been a major global developer and supplier of CNC routing and knife-cutting systems, with a huge presence in many disparate industries. The decision by the parent company in Canada to add waterjet cutting systems to our extensive product portfolio emanated from the need to maximise the business potential that exists for customers in a much wider range of industries to which they will now have access in order to fuel future growth and prosperity.”
